For the past several weeks, I have been lamenting with Ken the canceling of Pushing Daisies. I adore, emphasize, adore this show and anyone who knows me consistently mentions that the show was created especially for me. Hence, it was canceled.
Tonight, I stumble upon the trailer for Trick 'r Treat, the anthology horror film with Anna Paquin. Looks brilliant and fun. I wiki and find out it was made in 2007 and had its distribution shelved. No no major moviehouses, we couldn't possibly want quality films with original perspectives. Why not keep making Saw over and over and over again? That's genius. I stopped watching them after I pained myself with Saw 2.
The Mist? Brilliant. No one saw it. The Descent? Brilliant. No one saw it.
13% of the population has a college degree. A smaller number is intelligent I'd wager. Numbers drive distrubition and success of art it seems.
I'm damned. Thank god Mad Men is winning awards right and left. At least I have that salvation.
